I know what it’s like to be depressed. It’s very unpleasant and sad. I never wanted to do anything. The littlest things made me upset. Some days I wanted to stay in bed. Other days I wanted eternal sleep.
Being depressed is like sitting in an emotional dark for long periods of time. It’s like dying a slow, painful death. I had no real friends, so I relied a lot on my computer. I had plenty of long distance friends from the internet through my phone. But let’s face it, that’s usually not real friendship, it’s just someone to talk to. Whenever I was on the verge of getting my phone taken from me, I’d cry like a baby you were taking candy from. I ditched class to cry in the bathroom. It was so bad they put me in the ISS room so that I could do my school work alone. I stole things from people for no reason. I got suspended for it. When I came back I stole again for no reason. That time the punishment was way worse.
There were times I tried hurting myself, but I could never bring myself to do such a thing. There were still plenty of times that I wanted to though. Life was so hard for me then. I hated everything, even myself. In short, I know what it’s like to be depressed. I have even written a poem about it. (See Below) Depression I feel them closing, closing in fast; Those dark thoughts hidden deep within; They may get me soon, finally, at last. Such dark thoughts torture my soul, body, and mind; Thoughts and images of razor blades and scars and blood; Making you think, feel, and act ways that aren't kind. Cuts and scars I bare on my arms; All have a story, a reason for being; I must wait, wait for those healing charms. In this state of mind, state of deep depression; Nothing interests you or matters anymore, not even your own life; Yet you feel the need to find one who can change your sad expression. And that's what it's like in a life of deep depression :C Who is to Blame for Larry King’s Shooting? There were many people involved in the lead up and shooting of Larry King. Larry was flamboyantly gay and Brandon was angry. Epstein was gay as well and Larry & Brandon’s parents weren’t the best. I believe they are all to blame in one way or another.
Ms. Epsein and openly gay assistant principal at EO Green was partly to blame for Larry’s death. Yes, the law does
Ms. Epstein
say people have the right to express themselves as the please, but the school rules are that clothing may not be disruptive. Legally, she could not tell Larry to stop, but I believe she could have told him to tone it down because his clothes were disruptive to the learning environment. Larry’s parents could have done something to prevent this as well. Parents have a legal right to tell you what you can and can’t wear. Larry’s parent knew or should have known that his clothing was causing stirrings at school. They could have easily told Larry to stop dressing so gaudy. Also Larry’s biological parents were pretty bad. His father wasn’t in the picture and his mother was a drug addict. When he went to the King family the government said he wasn’t being fed regularly. Brandon’s parents are also not that great his father was an alcoholic and his mother was a meth addict. When Brandon was younger he saw his father shoot his mother in the arm, not a very good role model. Brandon just dealt with the situation the way he knew how, with violence.
Larry is also partly to blame as well. He should have known what he was getting himself into. When you’re a boy
Larry King
who dresses like a girl and say you’re gay, you’re going to attract bad attention. He did have the right to dress like that, but he should have known that more people would dislike it than not. Larry also had a problem with sexually harassing guys. He was even removed from his gym class because of it. Gay or not, no one has the right to sexually harass someone. Out of everyone, I believe Brandon should hold the most blame. He got the gun and pulled the trigger. Yes, he may have been sexually harassed by
Brandon McInerney
Larry two or three times, but that does not constitute murder. Middle school kids may be stupid and immature, but Brandon knew exactly what he was doing. He used four days to plan the murder of Larry King. He even told people he was going to kill Larry, but they just shrugged it off as a joke. But I wasn’t so funny when he actually killed him, was it? If Brandon or one of those kids would have just told a school authority figure this whole situation could have been avoided. Yes, Larry took his crush on Brandon too far, but that did not give Brandon the right to murder Larry King on Feb. 12, 2008.
But out of everyone involved, I believe they all are to blame in some way, shape, or form. Larry, Brandon, Epstien, and the parents all played a part in this horrible tragedy. Even though Brandon is the only one on trial, I believe they all should be punished in some way. Everyone had a part to play. Turns out everyone played their part badly, and someone didn’t like the show.
In conclusion. I believe everyone is to blame in one way or another for Larry King’s murder. Larry should not have died the way he did. He should be wobbling around his school in his brown stiletto heels, or sneakers if he chooses. This is what I believe about this. 30 By 30

Brandon’s Sentence On February 12, 2008 Brandon McInerney shot Larry King twice in the head, execution style. Even
Brandon McInerney
though they are trying him as an adult 3 years later, I believe Brandon should be tried as a juvenile. Yes, he did commit an adult crime. Yes, he did know that what he was doing was wrong. But he was young and stupid. I know I’ve a lot of things that were wrong and I knew they were but I did them anyways. But that still doesn’t justify murder. Still he is a 14-year old boy and he was not fully equipped with the proper brain development to deal with this situation and the consequences of his actions. This is why I believe that Brandon McInerney should be tried as a juvenile.
Brandon was an immature 14-year old boy. He is not an adult. Yes, he did commit an adult crime with adult thinking, but he still is not an adult. If children are able to be tried as an adult we should be able to have the same rights and privileges as adult do as well. They don’t let us do those things because we are not developed enough to handle them. He was developed with the skills to know right from wrong, but not the ability to think about the consequences. He may have planned a murder but h did on a child’s impulse. You must also not forget the fact that that is how he learned to deal with his anger from his father.
I think Brandon should be able to get out at 25. I believe he can still be rehabilitated. Everyone deserves a second chance. He will be convicted guilty. But I believe he still has a chance to get better. No one but Brandon will ever know how he really feels inside unless he gets help.
Larry and his family probably want Brandon to be tried as an adult so that he will be in jail for the
Larry King
rest of his life. I bet they believe that a life for a life is fair from their point of view. Brandon and his family on the other hand will most likely desire the minimum sentence possible. He is a just young boy who just needs a lot of help.
In conclusion, I believe that Brandon should not be tried as adult. Yes, he committed an adult crime with adult actions and thinking, but he still has a chance. He is still too young to know. He is not developed enough to understand the consequences of murder. This is why I believe that Brandon McInerney should be tried as a juvenile and not as an adult. Photography vs. Text
I agree and disagree with Sontag. Yes, photography is like a pollution, but does that make it bad? Yes, the photography gets to choose what he wants you to see, but does that make it a lie? Susan Sontag believe so. I don’t; I believe photography something in the middle, not good or bad.
Sontag does make a good point about photography and media: “Industrial societies turn their
Susan Sontag
citizens into image-junkies; it is the most irresistible form of mental pollution.” We spend hours a day looking at a screen of some type and for what? It’s usually not teaching us anything, so Sontag would say what’s the point? An average American by the age of 70 will have spent 10 years of their lives looking at screens. I completely understand where Sontag is coming from, but media isn’t all useless. But being a writer herself, she may be being a little bias.
In my opinion, media is very useful. For example, if thousands of people see an ad for
Me (giving my point of view)
something and they all go out to buy it, that business will have enough customers to open another store, in turn creating more jobs. Media can also help us to understand things better. No, you don’t know everything from looking at pictures and stuff, but they do help. Media does what words can’t, they show emotion and beauty.
Media and text are bland and boring. When you put them together they can create something beautiful, horrifying, or scary. For example, if you wrote a book about the Nazi death camps with no pictures, it will be dry and boring. But if you put in a picture of the camps and people that were in them, it will make it much better. It will be more rich and understandable.
Ray Man's Photogragh: "Tears"
Images and text complement each other.
In conclusion, I believe that media and text and equally important. They both have their own special job that each other can’t do. Media is in the middle of the argument, it is not good or bad. It is what it is. This is just my opinion. You may have your own. But this is what I believe. What Is Love?
Is love chemical? It is, this is true to some extent. Yes, everything we feel is chemical, but is that all? No, it’s not. There are other things involved. I believe that love is not mainly a chemical reaction.
According to evolutionary anthropology we are attracted to certain people for certain reasons. Men are attracted to women with large breasts and wide hips because it is a symbol of fertility and that she can provide him with healthy offspring. Women are attracted to a man with shapely muscles and a strong jaw because it means that he can protect her and her young. For thousands of years these “rules” have been in practice and they still influence us today.
When we are in our puberty and high school stages of our lives, we are all raging with hormones. Men mainly have testosterone and women mainly have estrogen, but we each have both. Teens are in a critical state at this time. They are confused, and don’t know what to do with themselves. When we are in a new/ “short-term” relationship, at any age, some new drugs come into play. The new drugs are called dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine. These drugs cause the good feelings you get when you are with that person you love, like a high. When you are not with that person you feel bad, like after the high. When you are in a long term relationship the drug that comes in the game is oxytocin. This drug is called the “bonding drug”, the same thing is in breast milk so that a new born baby can bond with its mother. This drug will keep you at a sense of well being.
Petrarch's Laura
What about love? Love is a beautiful thing that everyone wants to experience at least once. Love is a lot more than just chemicals floating around in our brains. Love is pain, happiness, sorrow. Love is so, so much more that chemicals. It’s just too hard to explain. I mean look at Romeo & Juliet, they died for each other’s love. Why do we get married?
Dante's Beatrice
Why did Dante and Petrarch dedicated their lives to writing beautiful poetry to women they never touched, made love to, or even met? Because love makes people do crazy things.
In conclusion, love is just love. There are many chemical in the role of love. That doesn’t mean that it’s all chemical and it’s not. I believe that love is not mainly a chemical reaction. I believe love is just that, and there’s nothing we can do about it.

I believe music is a very powerful thing and I love it. I love all kinds of music like, pop, rock, scremo, hip-hop, R&B. I love pretty much everything. I don’t really have a favorite singer or band, but I could tell you some I like. I enjoy Ke$ha,Katy Perry,Nicki Minaj,Hollywood Undead,Brokencyde,Kerli,Black Veil Brides, Lady Gaga and many more.
Black Veil Brides
Hollywood Undead
Brokencyde
Music has gotten me through a lot of tough times. It’s like a magic drug! It makes me happy when I’m sad, calm when I’m angry. It’s a very powerful thing. I love music so much. It’s what helps me get through life.
Kerli
Lady Gaga
In conclusion, one thing that is very important to me is music. It will be in my life till I die. That is all. Buh-Bye =] Marriage
Marriage is a very beautiful union of two people to be brought together forever. Marriage is supposed to be between two people who love each other very deeply. Whether it is between man & woman, woman & woman , or man & man, they should be able to say “till death do us part” and really mean it. In my opinion modern romantic marriage based on your emotions and logic is the best way to go.
Picking a partner is hard work. Some people let other people do it for them. In some countries it is even mandatory or traditional to do so. Arranged marriages are pretty much always based on logic and reason. They usually have the same rank the human food chain. Yes, this does sound all fine and dandy, but what about love? What about physical attraction? You may not find this in an arranged marriage. There are several couples who are happy and in love, but there’s no guarantee.
Today’s modern romantic marriages are no walk in the park either. Today people get married without good reason to. Not all of marriages today are based on a whim though. Some are really based on emotion and logic. A lot of them are based just on emotion, and those are the ones that are bringing up the divorce rate the most. They marry based on sex and when they are no longer attracted to the person they get a divorce.
In my opinion though, today’s romantic marriages are the best way to go,BUT, only if there is emotion AND logic involved in making the decision to get married. If you choose someone you are sexually and mentally attracted to, you’re doing well. Later in life, you might not be sexually attracted to your spouse anymore. Then you will only have each other’s character to rely on to keep the flame burning bright for each other.
In conclusion a modern romantic marriage is better than a traditional arranged marriage. Only if it based on emotion and logic. It will be amazing. Each side has its strong and weak points. My side is a romantic marriage all the way.
